Roo searched and searched. I watched as she turned to glare suspiciously at Em.
Finally, she asked, "Hat? Where hat?"
"Your rainbow propeller hat?" I questioned. She nodded and eyed Em again.
"It's on your head, Roo."

Later that night, I scanned the video monitor one last time. Something seemed off. Missing.
Em's pajamas were gone.
