Funny Valentines

We've had a week of Valentines.

It's good to get your moneys worth out of a holiday and your seasonal clothing.

First up, a class party. Em and Roo made their own cards with a teensy bit of help.

Next up, several days of staggered packages and cards arriving in the mail. Awesomesauce!

Finally, the big puffy heart day. Em woke me asking if she could open her surprise right away. The gift bags were sitting on the table. I'm actually pretty impressed with their restraint.

Because Roo insists on wearing it backwards. It looks like Grover is eating her head.

We met J after work at a diner for burgers and pizza. Then, on to the show. The Biscuit Brothers were performing across the street and the girls are big fans.

Both were nervous about the crowd and getting too close to the musicians.

They're bigger in real life.

The venue had a playscape behind the stage. We set up camp there and had a super time. Playing, rocking and enjoying the show.

Valentine's Day is AWESOME

Em and Roo learned the true meaning of Valentine's day at their playgroup this week. SUGAR! They are now officially in pink.puffy.heart.love with Valentine's day.

First up, a cookie decorating station.

Em used every last sprinkle on the table. Go long or get out.

Cuppycake time! Roo spent about 45 minutes with the top of her sprinkles and chocolate icing cupcake. It was true love.

In between cookies and cupcakes and gorgeous cakes made by incredibly talented moms (with triplets!)...

... the kids scarfed down fruits and veggies and pizza and sparkly punch.

Man! I love our playgroup.

We didn't just eat, though. All the kids decorated cute little bags to hold their Valentine's and exchanged love notes. And they played...

and played and played.

Because, that's what it's all about.

Valentines

Em and Roo completely enjoyed their 3rd Valentine's Day.

We kicked it off with gifts, Yo Gabba Gabba hoodies featuring Toodee.
She's Roo's absolute fav.
Then, off to dance class. Super fun since Marmee and Grandpa were able to attend with us.

Afterwards, we all met Aunt Kaki at our favorite place for weekend brunch. Mmmm, migas!
And bacon, of course. The RGs put away 4 or 5 pieces.

And just as they were asking to be all done and get out of their chairs, Grandpa and Marmee handed over their gifts. Sesame Street color and sticker books. Perfect!
