we'll teach her to go outside to potty next

Everyday, after lunch, the girls get a smoothie. It's an easy way to sneak in extra servings of fruits and veggies, as well as vitamins. The girls love them.

Maggie Dog loves the blender. Everyday when I fire it up, she barks. The entire time the machine is working, she is barking.

I've given up shushing her. It's a small pleasure for Maggie Dog.

J, however, is driven mad by the noise. He always makes the dog go outside or sit beside him in silence.

Today, J had successfully shushed Maggie Dog. But, the barking continued.

Em "woofed" all the way through the blending.

Naptime was not a resounding success today.

This video was taken about an hour into the slumberless party. The camera is set to Roo's crib, but Em is easy to hear, too.

Screaming Eaglets

Last night J was on the phone with customer service. I was getting dinner ready for the girls. Roo and Em were well into the grumpy zone and there was much vocalization. It was plain for the customer service rep to hear over the phone.

At one point, Roo yelled/screeched/screamed so loud that it obliterated J's phone conversation.

rep: Sir. Would it be possible for you to step away from your bird?

J: (silence)...Uh? ...What?

rep: Your. Bird. Sir. Can you step away from your bird so I can hear you?

J: (spit-take, uproarious laughing) That is not a bird. (wheezing laughter) It's my daughter!"
