This morning we proudly participated in the March of Dime's Walk for Babies. Our team, the 2006 Seton Wonders, were well represented.
Can you believe that every child in this picture (under the age of 3) started off as a preemie. Most were below 2 lbs at birth. Look at us now!
This sign was planted in the midst of the staging area. What an abominable number. We hope and pray that our collective fund raising efforts, and the awareness the Walk brings, help change that number for the better.
It was nasty hot today and we all felt wilted. J got the manual labor end of the job, with the uphill stroller pushing and backpack wearing. I got to take pictures. The girls chug-a-lugged on their sippy cups and threw goldfish about like they were on a parade route.
When we reached the finish line, Roo and Em picked up some baby schwag. And also added their 2 cents to a local March of Dimes project. They're making a quilt comprised of squares decorated by prematurity survivors. Em and Roo each did a hand print on a quilt square and I wrote their birth statistics and names next to the print. I can't wait to see the final product.
Em was more than happy to cheese for a picture after cleaning off her hands.
Then, it was nap time, so we loaded up and headed home. Roo was very worn out and happy to have her Nannie Blanket.
And Em rode Daddy's shoulders all the way to the car, smiling the whole way.
